1968 Convertible Vintage Racer
This 1968 big block powered vintage racer was freshly prepared for vintage racing, but did not enter any events or practice.
When I asked if it would run; a fellow stated it was not yet 100% complete and things like a dry or wet sump would be left for the new owner to decide.
Of all the Corvettes present for sale (admittedly small), this was the one my wife was most interested in.
This was identified as a fresh 454 Chevy crate motor, selected for reliability.
The door handle pushbuttons are one of the only clues that this was a 1968 model.
Both the front and rear clips were easily removed by unscrewing just a few fasteners. The entire floor pan was replaced with metal. It was clean.
All my wife had to do was see this sign and I could see my 401K being ravished.
On the back of their trailer, I spotted this ad for another vintage racer seeking a new home.
