June 5, 2005 LI, NY NCRS Race Car Event
This 1967 Corvette was owned by Queens, NY drag racer Astoria Chas who died in Vietnam. He never had a chance to race it as he intended.
It was delivered as a 435 HP 427 and a crate L-88 was installed for drag racing.
After his untimely death, his old friends drag raced it and set the AHRA record for it's class. Bill Foster in the center drove.
The rear window still has the White shoe polish showing the time and class from that record setting day at the drag strip.

I watched this beauty as it entered the DeMonte Motorspots garage, and took this video of the KO-MOTION.

If you didn't like the Race Car Corvette Show, you just ain't a car guy.
