2005 Atlantic City, NJ Corvette Event
The GM Corvette Heritage Display was already set up and ready for Sunday morning. Too bad this rig was not being hauled by a GMC. Note that the lights in the stadium were on for a night game. Baseball, Apple Pie and Volvo?

This was another Volvo powered semi. I really like the graphic on the box. I would not be surprised if Eckler's and Danchuk's royalty paid for this set up.

The Heritage Display included the Red 1963 FI Split Window, another C2 in the fore ground, a Silver C6 and a Yellow C5-R race car. There were also 3 Corvette engines on display stands fully dressed from oil pan to air cleaners.

This dual quad motor was a 1957 as demonstrated by the air cleaners and lower ignition shields. But I honestly did not check the numbers.

This 427 motor was a 1967 as indicated by the painted valve covers. The air cleaner identifies it as a tri-power, however I did not look to see if it was a 400 or 435 HP. I should have checked to see what was stamped on the pad but never CRS.

This C5-R race motors was a beauty with it's carbon fiber cross ram intake. Sort of a wee bit like the old 1963 Grand Sport motors with side draft Webers.

The C5-R race car was part of the Heritage Display. They were giving away the Spring 2005 Corvette Quarterly magazine bearing a sticker offering 3 years or 12 issues for a discount. I prefer the old free Corvette News magazine which was canned in favor of Corvette Quarterly even though both were essentially filled with fluff. But I'm spoiled.
