1956 Magazine Advertisements

The following magazine advertisements are 7 1/2" x 11". The Black and White advertisements are from Motor Trend and Hot Rod magazines, while the color ones are from Sports Illustrated and the New Yorker magazines. The Motor Trend and Hot Rod advertisements extol the racing success, while the Sports Illustrated and the New Yorker advertisements emphasize the luxury.

Below is the inside cover of Hot Rod May 1956. It mentions the new sports car record set at Daytona. On the cover it features: "on the spot coverage: STORMING THE BEACH at DAYTONA".

The following advertisement is from the June 1956 issue of Motor Trend magazine and has the same "Bring on the Hay Bales" title as a January 1956 article in Sports Illustrated magazine by John Fitch.

The 1956 advertisements were the first to appear in color with regularity along with Black and White advertisement. The Red Corvette below also appeared in the late sales brochure with a fall autumn leaf back round. The same Cascade Green Corvette below also appears in the late sales brochure.
