1956 SR-2 #144 in Motor Life Magazine

This 2 page article appeared in the September 1956 issue of Motor Life magazine authored by Art Dean. None of these pictures show the SR-2 on the track, however another article shows it at speed, and still with the license plate mounted.

All of the following are enlargements from the above.

 This is 1956 VIN# 1522, a production Corvette built in St. Louis in May 1956 and then modified by the Chevrolet R&D Center as the SR-2 (Sebring Racer-2). About two months later it is entered into the June 24 Road America race as #144 driven by Dick Thompson and Harley's son, Jerry Earl. It finished 16th.
